TAMODIA'2006 is the fifth in a series of workshops focused on different forms of models, diagrammatic and formal notations, and analytic frameworks used to understand human tasks and activities with computers and technology. The 2006 edition of the TAMODIA workshop adheres the main theme “Taming HCI design and development complexity with tasks, models and diagrams”. The growing complexity of modern software systems and the requirements for their accompanying User Interfaces demands for design and development methodologies that ensure support of the envisioned goals. In all stages of the software engineering life cycle, even beyond during software usage and evolution, we need models and notations to express the tasks and goals the user interface supports. Expressing the human-computer interaction aspect of a software system during and beyond these stages is still a true challenge. This is especially the case for non-traditional and future user interfaces. Previous editions of TAMODIA:
